I was recently browsing through random artworks and I came across a person with whose main source of artwork comes from OCxCanon pairing. While normally I don't really bother to point out the usual flaws within this, I'm starting to notice A LOT lately that this has become a major issue for many manga/anime/cartoon/whatever fans. Please people, have we nothing better to do than to bicker about such trivial matters? Has otaku reached a new low? For the sake of the names of anime/manga/whatever fans, please, let's put a stop to the childishness!

Everyone has their daydreams, yes, I know. We've all done it. We've all pictured ourselves with a famous someone, be they fictional or no. EVERYONE has done this. EVERYONE. And then we have a good laugh at how silly we are then we go about our daily lives. But it's when people make such a daydream part of their daily lives do things go out of balance. And equally just out of whack are the people who take the time to try to bring this person 'back to reality through unkind methods'. PLEASE PEOPLE. There's fan, and then there's FANATIC. Look up the terms, you'll understand the major difference. PLEASE PEOPLE. For the love of god just watch the anime/manga/whatever and enjoy it for what it is. Communicate with others who share the same joy of watching/reading. It's just plain silly! Everyone in the entire world has different tastes and different opinions. It's what makes that person who they are. Why? If everyone liked the same thing, we'd all be bored out of our minds and probably kill ourselves to end the pain. Dear god people, you're talking about people who will never, ever, EVER exist amoung us other than on a TV screen or piece of paper. Yes, it's fun to enjoy things like that, as it is good to let yourself dream. But let's not worsen ourselves over such things. I mean, if you want to start a fight, go next door and punch your neighbor. Yeah, I didn't think you'd do that, you'd get charged with assault. Welcome to the real world. It's soooo much easier to do that on the internet because, you know what? That person will most likely never be able to physically touch you. Unless they're a psycho who will track you down by means of google search to find you at home and beat you senseless. (THIS HAS HAPPENED, BTW) So yeah, that's pretty much all I have to say. Personally, I think having technology like this is just turning us into nothing more than talking monkeys. Maybe we should all go outside. The social aspect of the internet is no longer useful, it's just a place for people to make a jackass of themselves and feel special from it. Hell, maybe it'd knock us down a few knotches if the internet fucking DIED FOREVER. It'd sure as hell teach us to be self-reliant.

EDIT: Here is the comment that was left, but the person shall go unnamed. I don't need anyone running to this person in need to banter to them about what has already been said. The issue was over two people who had different view on character pairings. It had actually gotten to the point where both sides were at each other's neck and even starting HATE GROUPS. HATE GROUPS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. OVER **FICTIONAL** CHARACTER'S ROMANCE LIFE!!! Jesus Christ, people. If that's how seriously bored you are, maybe you should pick up a hobby other than the internet. Go join a swim team or something... Sheesh.

It's HORRIBLY childish of you to send your fans attacking another person with whom they have no relation to. While having fangirl obsessions is natural for any otaku (being an otaku, myself), it's just going to far to outright start a brawl over FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. ESPECIALLY OVER THEIR ROMANCE LIFE. While I understand that it is very upsetting to be mocked over such a trivial thing like pairings, it doesn't make you look any better to retaliate and in turn do the exact same thing that had made you so upset. That is a form of hypocrisy. The best thing to have done was simply shrug it off and continue to post your artwork, and if they continued harassing you, report them. But what you did here was just down right hypocritical. In the future, if this happens again, my advice is not to make a big deal about it. Stick to what YOU belive in, and be as civil as possible. In the end, THEY will be the ones who look like a fool, instead of BOTH of you. I take no side in either of this, but I simply wish people to better themselves for not only their own sake but for the sake of others. Society morals has reached an alltime low, please don't add to it, in fact, let's work on making it more intelligent!
